What 'Made to Measure' Means at The Curtain Store
Made-to-measure curtains are cut to the width and drop you give us, not sold in fixed sizes. This level of customisation is particularly useful for awkward windows, unusually high or low drops, or designs where accurate pattern matching is needed across multiple panels.
Ready-made curtains are ideal for standard window sizes, while made-to-measure curtains are designed for windows that require a precise fit.
How We Make Custom Curtains in the UK
Curtains are cut in our own UK workroom. Corners are mitred at a clean 45-degree angle instead of a bulky overlap, and penny weights go into the hem to keep the curtain hanging straight. Our cutting equipment lifts each panel vertically and measures to within 3mm, so pattern matching remains consistent across each curtain panel.
Roman blinds are hand-stitched, joining the face fabric and lining by hand, so the front shows no visible stitching. Thread tension is set for each fabric to keep the finish smooth on both sides.
Our blinds are fitted with compliant child-safety components for added reassurance in family homes.
